Demo · A4
A website for a bed and breakfast, built to take the enquiry direct.
Five pages, six rooms, and a stay worked out in pounds on the home page.
A guest chooses a room from what the page can tell them about it, and a house with no photographs yet still has plenty to say. Each room here is drawn to scale, with its floor, bed, view, bath and rate set under it.
It is a finished five-page site you can open and press. Buy this one and the same pages are drawn for your rooms, your rates and your address.
Whinchat House, Maren, Colm and the rates are invented, its phone number belongs to a block reserved for fiction, and the enquiry form sends nothing.

Judgement
What this build demonstrates
The commission is worked out on the page
One two-night stay is drawn as two bars: through a travel site the house keeps 85% of it, and written to the house direct it keeps all of it. The figures come from the same rate table as the rooms page, so they cannot drift from the prices, and the 15% is labelled as an example.
No photographs, so each room is a plan and a caption
Every room is a paint-colour field with its floor plan drawn to one scale, under a caption set like a museum label. Bed size next to room size is what a guest tries to guess from a photograph. Your own photographs would take the same plates.
A form that asks for dates
The form asks for dates, guests and a name, then shows a preview of what the house would receive. It sends nothing, and the page says so above it. The house replies by email and takes the deposit by bank transfer, so every answer is up to date.
Five pages, one job each
Rooms, rates and dates, the house and the area, how to find us, and a home page that sends a guest to the right one. The rates are a plain table, so a guest can read them on a phone and a search engine can read them too.
Fit
The kind of business it suits
A house with a handful of rooms and an owner who answers her own email.
- Bed and breakfasts and guest houses of three to ten rooms
- Small inns with rooms above the bar
- Farm stays and lodges with a few rooms
- Boutique city guest houses
A poor fit for a house that wants guests to see free nights and pay on the site. That is a different build, and we would say so and tell you which tool the site should link to.
