Demo · D5

A website for a cleaning company - built to start a recurring clean.

One bright page, one request, and a price the customer can picture before they write.

Somebody choosing a cleaner is choosing who comes into the house. The page has to feel friendly in the first second and then answer the practical questions: what is included, what it costs, and how it starts.

It is a finished one-pager you can open and press. Flat bright colour, a drawn window, and one button that opens an email already carrying the four questions a cleaner needs. Buy this one and the same page is drawn for your firm, your towns and your prices.

Tern & Sill Cleaning is a business we invented so there was something real to design for. It is not a client of ours. Its prices are invented too, and its telephone number and email address reach nobody.

Judgement

What this build demonstrates

  • The page asks for one thing, and the button does the asking

Ask for a quote opens an email with the four questions already typed in: home or office, how many rooms, how often, which days. The reply can then be a price, and the button is the whole form.

  • Bright colour on a page the buyer reads closely

Lemon, aqua, pink, sky and coral, each used as a flat field with dark ink on top. The text stays readable on every colour, and the page is checked against WCAG 2.2 AA in the light and the dark theme. The cheapest tier looks as finished as any other.

  • Example prices by home size, and a walk-round for offices

Four home sizes with a price and the time they take, so a visitor can place themselves in under a second. Offices vary too much for a table, so the page says they are priced after a free walk-round. Publishing the range answers the first question a visitor has.

  • A drawn window, and an insurance slot left empty

The artwork is drawn in flat shapes: a young firm has few photographs of its own, and a stock kitchen shows someone else's home. The page also has a labelled empty slot where a real firm's insurance certificate would go. We left it empty because insurance and background-check rules differ in each market, and an invented certificate is the one thing here that could mislead a buyer.

Fit

The kind of business it suits

A service that comes to the customer on a schedule and is sold by the visit.

  • Domestic cleaners and maid services
  • Office and shop cleaners
  • Window, carpet and oven cleaners
  • Home helpers and organisers
  • Any service sold as a regular visit

A poor fit for a firm with several crews, a page for each service and a price list for each area. One page runs out of room there, and we would say so and point you at Multi-page.

Your site

Yours would be built the same way

Same price, same week, drawn for your trade. You see five design directions first and pick the one that ships.
