A website for a therapy practice - built so an anxious stranger sends one message.

One quiet page, one action, and the answers a nervous person needs before they write.

Somebody looking for a therapist is often at a low point, and a page that sells to them makes it harder. This one takes things away: no photographs of people, no motion, one typeface, and a single colour that appears on one button.

It is a finished one-pager you can open and press. The button opens an email that already carries three gentle prompts. Buy this one and the same page is written for your practice, your sessions and your fees.

Third Floor Therapy and Maeve Orrin are invented so there was something real to design for. It is not a client of ours. Its fees are invented too, and its telephone number and email address reach nobody.

Judgement

What this build demonstrates

  • The page asks for one thing

Write to Maeve opens an email with three prompts typed in: a first name, the best way to reach her, and anything to say, or nothing. The button is the whole form, so the page collects nothing.

  • One colour, used once

Slate blue sits on the message button and nowhere else. The rest is ink on pale paper, with no motion at all. For an anxious reader, the only thing asking for attention is the thing you want them to do.

  • It says what happens next

Three steps from the first message to the first session, then the length, the place, the days and the fee. A nervous person writes sooner when they can picture what follows.

  • A safety line, and an empty slot for a credential

The page points to local emergency services and names no crisis line. The footer marks where a real practice names its professional body and number. We left both unfilled because titles, registers and crisis services differ in every country, and an invented one is the thing here that could mislead somebody.

Fit

The kind of business it suits

A one-person practice where the hard part is writing the first message.

  • Counsellors and psychotherapists in private practice
  • Coaches and mentors
  • Massage and bodywork practitioners
  • Any one-person service where the first message is the hard part

A poor fit for a clinic with several practitioners, a shared calendar where clients pick their own slot, or intake forms that collect health information. That is a different build, and we would say so and point you at Multi-page.
