A website for a veterinary practice, built so a new client registers and a worried owner finds the emergency page.

Five pages, and an emergency page a worried owner reads in one screen.

A vet's website gets two kinds of visitor. One is calm and wants to register an animal. The other is frightened and wants one answer.

Buy it and the same five pages are written for your practice and your hours.

Linnet Court, its four people and its fees are invented, and both its phone numbers belong to a reserved range, so no one answers them. In a real emergency, call your own vet or your nearest emergency vet.

Judgement

What this build demonstrates

  • The emergency path is a page

A strip above the menu links to it on every page. The page puts who to call, what to do, the hours and what to bring side by side, so a worried owner reads it without scrolling on a desktop. The first thing it says is what a real owner should do.

  • A drawn clock shows when you are open

A 24-hour ring marks the opening hours and the out-of-hours line, in colour and in dashes, with the hours written beside it. It answers 'are they open now' at a glance.

  • Five fields, then a time

Your name, a way to reach you, the animal's name, its kind and a time. Health is discussed by phone or at the visit. Health stays between you and the vet.

  • Brick red for urgent, deep blue for register

Rounded cards and pill buttons on warm paper. Brick red appears only where something is urgent, and deep blue only on the register button.

Fit

The kind of business it suits

A practice that wants new clients to register and out-of-hours callers to find the number.

  • Independent veterinary practices
  • Small-animal clinics
  • Pet groomers and boarding kennels
  • Animal rehoming charities

A different build suits a practice that needs clients to pick a slot in its diary, pay a deposit or share pet records online. We would say so and point you at the tool you already use.
